Behind the Walden Town Hall there is a playground that is really more of a play oasis. The Pumpkin Patch Playground raises the monkey bar for other sites. First it is huge and, quite possibly, the most expansive play area for kids in the region. It is beautifully built into the natural landscape which gives it an almost treehouse feel. There are options for older and young children. Every type of play equipment is represented from slides, bridges and zip lines to swings and forts. Many of the slides are double slides with one being the longest I have ever seen that didn’t end in a pool of water.
The entire area is built in a gully area that adds to the wilderness feeling you have while there. Almost the entire area is shaded, which is a nice change from many playgrounds. The fun pumpkin theme is carried throughout the playground. There are several areas to have a picnic that are open or covered.
This is a playground where you should plan to spend some significant time. KJ played until he could go no longer. He is already asking when we are going back.
