There was so much going on today in Chattanooga it was hard to choose which events to visit. Our first stop was to the Christkindlmarkt (Kris-kin-dill-mart) at St. Marks in the NorthShore Community.
This is the first annual Christkindlmarkt which is a holiday market in the tradition of those held throughout Germany & Austria during the Christmas season.
At the market, you will find several local artisans selling everything from handmade crafts, children’s clothes, pottery, and lots of holiday specialty foods, crafts for kids and goodies. A list of artisians can be found on their website.
In addition to the outside artisan fair, musical performances can be heard inside the church throughout the weekend. Since I am a little late getting this post up, below I have listed the Sunday performances.Sunday, December 2 2:00 – 3:00 A Jolley Family Christmas Five generations playing various holiday music. 3:30 – 4:30 Mike Harris Acoustic guitar folk music.
You will also have an opportunity to tour this beautiful church. A lot of restoration and revitalization efforts are going on in this century old church. If you have never visited, you won’t want to miss it.The Little Details: Location: St Marks Church – Northshore 701 Mississippi Ave Chattanooga, TN 37405 Time: Saturday, December 1, 10am-9pm & Sunday, December 2, 1:00pm – 8:00pm Parking: Primarily surrounding streets Event Website St. Marks Website
